Middle School
Sixth through Eighth Grade
By participating in our differentiated Core Knowledge® curriculum, developing adolescents are able to find a knowledge base that is right for them. Middle school students are actively engaged in learning about the world around them. Our students are faced with studies in history throughout the ages, Saxon math with pre-algebra concepts, literature, spanish, electives, grammar, and technology. Students also participate in art history and appreciation, music theory, physical education, and drama.
All middle school students take part in our Moral Focus program. This program is designed to support parents’ efforts to teach character at home by reinforcing and modeling universal human virtues, such as compassion, respect and integrity. Students are taught to respect their classmates, make smart decisions and to resolve disputes in a manner that displays strong character.
KGA offers electives to our middle school students. These electives are chosen by the students and their families and may include Home Economics and Health, Web Design, Business Concepts, and Spanish.
Our teachers are aware of the students' need for social growth as well as their academic growth. Students are encouraged to participate in peer mediation groups, study sessions, student groups, volunteer opportunities, and after school organizations. Students have the opportunity to embark on field trips, experience hands-on learning, and participate in live presentations throughout the school year.
