Elementary Program
The Academy's elementary level consists of grades 1-5 set up in self-contained classrooms. The subjects taught are based around the Core Knowledge curriculum and are leveled towards each student's individual abilities. The language arts program focuses on classical literature, the Orton-Gillingham approach to phonics, Handwriting Without Tears, and Reading A-Z. The math program utilizes Saxon math and hands-on learning approaches. Other subjects include science, social studies, music, art, and drama. Special classes throughout the week include physical education, Spanish, technology and library.With Krambrooke's recent application process commencment for the International Baccalaureate Organization Primary Years Program, elementary classrooms produce meaningful units that are inquiry-based. Students are encouraged to show international mindedness and caring towards others.
