KGA Uniform Standards

At KGA, we feel that a uniform standard can promote school safety, improve discipline, and enhance the learning environment. The standards of KGA's uniform have been established to promote self-esteem, self-worth, and self-respect.

BOYS may only wear:

• Long or short sleeve KGA logo polo shirts: Navy, White, Yellow
• Button up KGA logo dress shirts (must be buttoned and tucked in): Navy, White, Yellow
• KGA logo Turtlenecks: Navy or White
• KGA logo Cardigans or Vests: Navy
• Plain, solid navy or khaki uniform pants
• Plain, solid navy or khaki uniform shorts: September, May, June ONLY

     *shorts must come below fingertips

     *shirts must have collars 

GIRLS may only wear:

• Solid long or short sleeve KGA logo polo shirts: Blue, White, Yellow
• Plain, solid navy or khaki uniform shorts: September, May, June ONLY
• KGA logo Dress shirts (must be buttoned and tucked in): Blue, White, Yellow
• KGA logo Turtlenecks: Navy or White
• KGA logo Cardigans: Navy
• Plain, solid navy or khaki uniform pants
• Plain navy or khaki uniform skirts
• Plain navy or khaki uniform dresses
• KGA Plaid uniform skirts or jumpers: Classic Navy Plaid

        *skirts and dresses may be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee

        *shirts must have collars

        *shorts must come below fingertips  

FOOTWEAR & HOSIERY

• Athletic shoes
• Casual dress shoes (such as Mary Janes, Oxfords, loafers, etc.)

      *Heels may not exceed 2 inches

      *No Wheelies, lite-up shoes, Crocs, flip-flops or open-toed shoes

• Skirts and Jumpers must be worn with navy blue or white knee-high socks or opaque tights.

ACCESSORIES

• Jewelry is limited to small earrings (no dangles or hoops), one simple ring, and/or a watch.
• Girls may wear KGA plaid, navy blue, white or khaki headbands.

*Students will be asked to remove any accessories deemed to be distracting and to refrain from wearing the item(s) again.

 CASUAL DAYS

• In addition to the standard uniform, on special days students will be able to wear KGA spirit wear. On Fridays, students may wear their KGA shirt with jeans. We will also have designated dress code free days. These days will be announced throughout the school year.

 Uniforms are expected to be in good repair at all times.   Any items not listed above are NOT permitted.

Gym Attire

It is mandatory that all gym-participating students wear athletic shoes that have a non-marking sole.  If a student has gym and does not have these types of shoes, they will not be allowed to participate in gym that day. 

Students in the upper level classes, grades 5-8, are encouraged to change into a plain t-shirt and shorts (sweat pants/shirts during cold season) during gym.  They are also encouraged to bring the appropriate hygiene products such as deodorant or cologne. This is not mandatory; however, they may feel more comfortable throughout the remainder of the day.
